With Kroger delivery deal, Olo stakes its claim in grocery

Sushi and Floral.

Restaurant software technology company Olo has expanded its platform to Kroger’s sushi and floral delivery offering, marking the company’s first grocery partnership, according to Olo’s fourth-quarter and full-year financial results announcement on Feb. 22.

Crossover between retail, hospitality, and ecommerce. Products ordered online for rapid collection/delivery, made to order, with the “availability” published on multiple channels. Similar to e.g. dropship/marketplace sellimg

The issue I have is Olo is akin to middleware for me - yes, publishing availability to multiple channels is a good idea - but is that a scalable business? I am unsure…

I see Olo as domain specific equivalent to e.g. ChannelAdvisor, Tradebyte etc.
