Oxford Street in the UK Struggling

Europe’s busiest shopping street–not looking so good (hasn’t been for a while).

The extra passing trade generated by the wildly successful new metro line (Elizabeth line) isn’t translating to higher occupancy–I guess that trade is passing right on through (maybe to Westfield Stratford, on the Elizabeth, or Westfield London, using a mixture of Elizabeth and a short ride on the Central line tube)

Vacancy is a tremendous problem in New York City, even before the pandemic.

Since the pandemic, it just got worse. I think a lot of cities are struggling with this same issue.
