Meta slapped with record £1 billion by EU regulators over data transfers

Ecommerce retailers (especially those based outside the EU), beware. GDPR now shown to have big scary teeth. Likely to set precedent for the UK (if the Information Commissioner is allowed to go after it).

Big failure for Nick Clegg, former deputy prime minster of the UK (Liberal, in the Con-Lib coalition government lead by Cameron, 2010-2015). Who really should have known better (but was probably overruled by Zuck)

I thought that Shopify and its app ecosystem could also be a target for this. It really feels like most governments want their data inside their borders more and more.
