Learning about Shopware

From what I can tell, they just hired a long-time Digital River exec Jason Nyhus as the GM of North America. Would seem to indicate to me they are serious about expanding into North America, from their home base in Germany.

@rebuildgirl as far as I know Shopware is based in Europe. Have not seen or heard of anyone using their software.

We worked with Daniel Höhnke from Overdose DACH for our Shopware integration and he’s also on the board for Shopware United. Could be worth reaching out to him or their team for a chat.

I’ve also been told similar things to Rick’s point, that they continue to make hires to help them expand outside of Germany and primarily in N America. Will be interesting to see how they approach it and what success they may have.

I have attended two of their events one in Chicago at RICE then their NYC event for official announcement expansion into North American market.
They have big userbase and partner network in Europe.
They are working on establishing themselves in medium size ecommerce brand market with Magento being the direct competitor.
The events I attended has some of the biggest ecommerce integrators.
For the platform, pretty robust and they continue building new functionality and features, releases comes frequently.
In the long term they may be a serious contender in ecommerce platform market in NA region.
