Guerrilla marketing by Aldi in the UK

Great press photo!

The stunt took place in Alyesbury, Bucks…as it [Aldi] was crowned the UK’s cheapest supermarket in 2022 by consumer watchdog Which?.

For a basket of 48 groceries in December, Aldi was found to be the least expensive supermarket at £81.63, in comparison to Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s which ranged between £93.42 to £95.71.

Side note: Currently groceries in the UK tend to be about 30% cheaper than in the US, like for like, despite some items being taxed at 20% (included in posted retail price).

Aldi has remained scrappy - love them doing these stunts
