The e-commerce giant said late last month that it is partnering with sea carrier Stena Line to ferry loaded trucks from sortation centers in Germany or Poland to Sweden.
Interesting to see if this is replicated for the “offshore” islands of the UK that are ferry connected, as part of an Amazon logistics rollout for last mile. Some will be too small (e.g. Orkneys has one last mile carrier who handles all the courier brands), but Wight, Man, Jersey/Guernsey might be big enough for Amazon to send a trailer once a day rather than consigning it to a traditional courier (who might send it by air).
