Authentic Brands Group is clearly onto something. They now have raised $5b in total, owns 40-plus brands, generate $25b in revenues, and is valued at $20bn.
And there is the “other” non retail side of the business, where they hold the license rights for some famous people (living and dead) such a Mohammed Ali…
I think Frasers Group in the UK is trying to build a similar retail conglomerate “on the cheap” as a vulture capitalist.
(But not “managing out” retail businesses like Hilco, who currently owns UK Home improvement retailer Homebase, and owns or has liquidated retailers like “Jo Ann”)
